Your Life, Filmed creates family documentary films in Antioch through personal interviews at home. We help parents and grandparents describe their experiences on camera, then edit their words and selected family photographs into a finished film.

At-home life-story filmmaking
An Antioch family film, told by the person who lived it.
A familiar story often has details the family has never asked about. How did your parents meet? What brought them to Antioch? Which decision changed their working life? A guided documentary interview gives those questions time and attention, with professional sound and lighting in a comfortable room.
Begin with the person, rather than a box of every photograph you own. Together we identify the chapters worth covering and the people who can explain them. The finished film can follow one relative or include several voices, depending on the package and the story you want to preserve.
A thoughtful conversation is the center of the film. Illustrative setting.
Plan your family film
Plan the interview before gathering the whole family.
If relatives are visiting Antioch for a birthday or reunion, separate the interview time from the gathering itself. Conversations are easier to record when music, cooking and several overlapping voices are not competing with the person on camera. We discuss a suitable room and the filming schedule with you.
Choose a small initial selection of photographs and note names, approximate dates and why each picture matters. Share the intended viewing date before booking. Package timelines range from 6–8 weeks to 14–18 weeks, and the proposal confirms the agreed scope and schedule.
Questions that connect family life and Antioch memories.
01
Arriving in town
Antioch’s village history describes its growth as a vacation destination after the railroad arrived in 1886. If your family first knew the area through summer visits, ask how those visits became part of family life. Their own experience matters more than a general history lesson.
02
Work and independence
A photograph outside a shop, an old uniform or a first pay envelope can introduce working life. Ask who taught them the job, how they traveled there and what they did with their first earnings. Include the names and relationships a younger viewer would not already know.
03
The years between milestones
Ask about the weekends, household rules and friendships that sit between wedding and graduation photographs. Which routines did they carry into raising their own children? A specific memory often explains a family tradition more clearly than a broad description of what childhood was like.
Choose a starting point
Family documentary and life-story filming services.
Can we arrange an Antioch interview while siblings are visiting?
Yes, subject to available filming dates. Tell us who will be present and whether they should be interviewed or simply help prepare. The participant allowance varies by package, so a visit does not automatically mean everyone will appear in the film.
Can a parent tell stories about living in Wisconsin too?
Absolutely. The filming location does not limit the life story. Bring relevant photographs and notes from earlier homes. If you want filming at another location outside Lake County, that travel and any additional production time need a separate discussion.
Is this a recording of the birthday party?
The core service is a planned life-story interview edited into a documentary. It is different from event coverage. We can plan a film intended for a celebration, but any recording of the celebration itself would need to be specifically agreed.
Is travel to Antioch included?
Lake County travel is included in the listed film packages. We confirm your address, the number of filming locations and any access requirements when preparing the proposal. Venue charges or other separately quoted additions are not included automatically.
